Weddings offer a great opportunity to dress up, but what about anniversaries of those still together 25, 50, 60 or even more years later? Those are really special too, and there are other reasons to celebrate life. More and more people are deciding to use a particular theme to add an interesting dimension to special parties. A huge amount of work goes into a special day but after the food is eaten and flowers fade, photographs may be the only record of precious moments. We give you something tangible to remember a special day with - people are still admiring portraits that are centuries old!
The Photography
Why did we want to set up ‘A Day to Remember’? For years we have been looking for a way to combine landscape and portrait photography in a meaningful way. We normally do location portraits in casual clothes, but felt that adding a period dimension to the photographs would create something special – a magical new dimension. Our two partners - local businesses - have brought excellence and essential skills to the venture, so we can create a top quality result. ‘A Day to Remember’ is here to create something memorable and special for you and to have fun too!
The Costumes
The Haslemere Wardrobe was established over 35 year ago and has become widely recognised as a leading supplier of costumes to the theatre and film industry and we have participated in many award winning productions. The designs are researched from historical documents and made from authentic and high quality materials, and they now have a huge stock of both historical costumes and period vintage designer clothing. The historical costumes are hand made, often from the finest of fabrics.
The staff are friendly, efficient and very experienced, and trained to know what costume would suit a particular customer and occasion. The costume could be the same one that has just been used in a major film or theatre production!
The Haslemere Wardrobe have a huge range of style and sizes and want their customers to be confident and comfortable in their costumes. They see their role in ‘A Day to Remember’ as providing people with costumes that allow them to feel genuine in the era that they have chosen so that they can relax into the role that they have chosen for the day.
Hair and Makeup
Director Angie Townsend single handily established Eden Hair and Beauty in 1996 and now boasts a highly motivated, energetic and fully qualified high energy team. Angie and the team are always involved in a variety of community focused collaborations and work hard to create alliances with other top local companies. Joining forces with the best has equated in their involvement in ‘A Day to Remember’.
